Our Process in making the best quality Legal 4D Number plates.
Please note! Before we begin to describe what it takes to make a 4D number plate, please be aware, we have spend £1000's in finding the right quality stock so that our quality control is very high, we have tried and tested various suppliers / ebay shops and manufacturers, to find the best quality components for your process.
Now Lets Begin.
1. Preparation to make a UK number plate.
We prepare by gathering the number plate components for the order.
- This includes 2x Reflective backing's - 1x white for the front and the other yellow for the rear.
- 2x Black plate acrylics.
- 2X Each character for the number plate in either 3D Gel or 4D Acrylic.
2. Print Reflective Backings
We print on the number plate reflective backings with the chosen options, in this case we will keep it road legal options without a border. this means your are not allowed a slogan, as we need print the company name here and mark the plate with BSAU 145e stamp and per the current DVLA number plate regulations.
3. Quality Check and place Acrylic Plate
We need to check our blank plate for blemishes and imperfections, in our experience 1 in 10 plates have imperfections and need to be disposed of.
supposing our plates pass expectations, we can continue to make our premium plates. lets remove the plastic coatings, apply our reflective backings and press them through our roller to complete the lamination process.

4. Apply our 3D Gel or 4D Acrylics to the Plate
so now that we have our blank plates we put then in our special jig that allows us to Place our 3D Gel or 4D Acrylics to the plate with the correct spacing and alignment. with 11mm between character, a correct middle space and a minimum margin of 16mm if we are creating legal short plates. we also need to take note if the customer has ordered a flag, these are provided in 3D gel resin for our premium number plates.
5. Polish, Package and Post
At this point were finished and add our finishing touches a special polish, we then package and post the plates to our customer promptly.
